FOCUS is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

 

There are a several ways you can support the youth and families of Jefferson County.

VOLUNTEER

FOCUS programs and events can only happen through the countless hours given by caring adults and youth. Current opportunities include:

 

ADULTS

  • Serve on the FOCUS Board and Program Advisory Coalitions.

  • Be a chaperone for monthly Teen Nite Out dances or the Sound Lounge Youth Music Venue.

  • Be a chaperone for summer trips to Hershey Park and Six Flags.

  • Be a speaker or resource person for youth and speak on drug, alcohol, or violence prevention (or a related topic of your choosing.) 

  • Assist with other FOCUS events.

  • Artists are encouraged to serve as Advisers for the When Youth Create initiative.

  • College or pre-college students can participate in the FOCUS Internship Program.

YOUTH

  • Serve on the FOCUS Teen Council.

  • Assist in presenting FOCUS programs such as Smart Moves and BABES to  area schools.

  • Be a Teen Nite Out Youth Assistant.

  • Help to develop violence prevention resources for youth through the When Youth Create initiative.

  • Serve on the WYC Leadership Council.

  • Help run the Sound Lounge Youth Music Venue.

  • Work at FOCUS as an intern.
